Ryan Herzog is an economist, professor and public speaker specializing in macroeconomics, international finance, and regional business cycles. He is a co-author of “Principles of Economics” with Paul Krugman and a frequent media contributor, including with outlets CBS News, Bloomberg TV, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Cheddar, Foreign Policy, Inside Higher Ed, The Conversation and more.

At Gonzaga University, he serves as Chair of the Economics Department, Chair of Faculty Compensation, and a Provost Faculty Fellow, shaping academic policies and faculty initiatives. He is also a leader in the School of Business Administration and has served on multiple university committees.

Beyond academia, Ryan engages in public economic discussions, delivering regional presentations on the U.S. and Washington economies and serving as Chair of the Audit Committee at Numerica. His work on "Swiftonomics" has gained national recognition, bridging pop culture and economic analysis. He also leads webinars on AI in the classroom, exploring how emerging technologies enhance economic education.
