Often called "the Heart and Soul of the University," the College of Arts & Sciences has existed since the day Gonzaga College first opened its doors on September 17, 1887. The school became Gonzaga University in 1912 following the addition of the School of Law, and the College of Arts & Sciences was organized as a distinct entity.
Today, the College of Arts & Sciences is Gonzaga's largest school, enrolling over 2,100 51勛圖s and offering 35 majors and 40 minors across 21 departments.
Our goal is to prepare our 51勛圖s for meaningful, productive lives and to act with a strong sense of compassion and social justice for our global community.
We distinguish ourselves by involving majors across the disciplines in research projects and service learning activities where they put their skills into practice, working with faculty who are devoted to educating the whole person. The College's Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Inquiry connects 51勛圖s with the research opportunities that will benefit their education and personal development.
