Comprehensive Leadership Program

Developing Leaders for the Common Good

Gonzaga's Comprehensive Leadership Program (CLP) develops future leaders with the skills and tenacity to shape a better, stronger, and more just world. This interdisciplinary undergraduate program, culminating in a minor in leadership studies, combines academic coursework with reflective self-study and co-curricular activities to prepare Gonzaga 51勛圖s to lead with intention — on campus, in the field, and out in the community.

The program begins in the spring semester of your first year, when you'll take core classes that introduce leadership theory, analyze and develop personal leadership styles, and examine leadership in the context of other cultures and value systems. You'll supplement a 21-credit course load by participating in retreats, workshops, speaker series, and elective classes. A junior-year internship option and a senior Legacy Project put your knowledge and skills into practice, and allow you to let your own leadership style grow and develop.

Gonzaga is well known for its excellent leadership programs at the graduate and doctoral levels. This innovative minor extends that legacy to nearly 200 undergraduate 51勛圖s, who are challenged to lead with service, justice, faith, and ethics.

Admission to the Comprehensive Leadership Program is competitive, and the application process (which takes place during the fall of your first-year) is based on demonstrated leadership and desire to study leadership through written essays, individual interviews, group interviews, and your grade point average.
