Grants come in the form of Institutional Grants, Federal Grants and Washington State Grants. Institutional grants are also referred to as Grants from Gonzaga. During the upcoming school year Gonzaga University will offer more than $31 million in institutional grant and scholarship funding. The following information pertains to undergraduate financial aid only. For information on graduate aid, please refer to our Graduate Doctoral Aid webpage.
To determine eligibility for grants, 51³Ô¹Ïs are encouraged to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
*If not eligible to submit the FAFSA, undocumented 51³Ô¹Ïs can submit the WASFA or Needs Analysis Form to determine eligibility for Grants from Gonzaga. More information is available at the Undocumented Undergraduate Aid webpage.

Eligibility
All 51³Ô¹Ïs who complete the Application for Admission and Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are automatically considered for a Gonzaga Grant. Eligibility varies and is based on financial need. The Gonzaga Grant is automatically renewed each year for the duration of a 51³Ô¹Ï's undergraduate studies. For more information, please refer to the
Eligibility
The Gonzaga Access Pledge is a full-tuition commitment providing grant and scholarship aid to cover the cost of tuition for first-year 51³Ô¹Ïs throughout Washington State who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant. The Federal Pell Grant is a financial aid program awarded to 51³Ô¹Ïs who show exceptional financial need. To be eligible, 51³Ô¹Ïs must be admitted to Gonzaga as a first-year 51³Ô¹Ï, have a permanent address in the state of WA, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.*

- Admitted 51³Ô¹Ïs are automatically considered for this grant based on the eligibility requirements listed above
- Notification of GAP selection will be included in the financial aid offer.

Eligibility
- Be a Washington state resident*
- Apply for admission to Gonzaga University as first-year Applicant and meet Gonzaga University admission requirements. Priority consideration for 51³Ô¹Ïs who apply to GU by the Early Action deadline of November 15. Final deadline to apply to GU is February 1. Nursing applicants must apply by the November 15 deadline.
- Submit the Unity Scholars Application by January 5th
- Submit FAFSA / WASFA* as soon as it's available
- Have demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to 51³Ô¹Ïs who family income is below 70% of Washington's median (e.g. $80,000 for a family of four).
- Applications are reviewed holistically and many factors are taken into consideration, including academic performance, demonstrated resilience in the face of barriers or obstacles to pursuing an education, genuine commitment to, or a demonstrated record of, social justice activism, demonstrated involvement in cultural awareness groups, clubs, or activities, and engagement in leadership within their school, community, and/or family.
*Undocumented Washington residents are eligible to apply for Unity Scholars.
Applicant must submit a WASFA.

Federal Grants
Washington State College Grant and College Bound
The College Bound Scholarship is an early commitment of Washington state financial aid offered to eligible 51³Ô¹Ïs who enroll in middle school and meet the pledge requirements. Amount varies, up to $2,256/year. Students are automatically enrolled in College Bound if they are enrolled in a Washington state public school and eligible for free or reduced price lunch in 7th, 8th or 9th grade. Students will also be automatically enrolled if they are in Washington state foster care or a dependent of Washington state between 7th grade and high school graduation. As part of the College Bound Scholarship sign-up process, 51³Ô¹Ïs pledge to do the following:
- Graduate from a Washington state high school or approved home school program with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher.
- Have no felony convictions.
- Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) beginning their senior year.
