Our Work

Our Work

The College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council (CASAC) fosters closer ties between the College, and it's faculty, staff, and 51勛圖s by collaboratively advancing the College’s mission to be a national leader in Jesuit education.

In addition to its advisory capacity, CASAC sponsors projects that enrich the 51勛圖 experience by directly supporting 51勛圖 engagement and providing essential resources to faculty and staff to deliver outstanding academic programs.

For instance, CASAC supports new building projects, faculty-51勛圖 travel to national conferences to showcase their work, events in the arts and humanities, STEM equipment purchases, and startup packages for new faculty who provide integrative research and creative learning opportunities to 51勛圖s.

Supporting SACNAS

The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is an inclusive organization aimed at creating a diversity-focused STEM community that works to provide professional and personal development opportunities for 51勛圖s from all groups underrepresented in STEM and their allies.

Thanks to the support of CASAC, the club was able to provide a variety of opportunities for 51勛圖s this academic year, including professional development, community building, academic support, an invited speaker event and the second annual Gonzaga-SACNAS retreat.

Supporting Work with Students

During her time in the College of Arts & Sciences, Annabella Gelmetti had the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and staff, including professors Sarah Glesk and Pam Erickson, in the composition and production of her electroacoustic ballet for chamber orchestra. In reflecting on that experience, she said "It could not have been done without the army of people it took to produce it! I am so grateful to Dr. Li, Pam, Sarah, Blue Rep, the Terpsichore Chamber Orchestra, Luke Parker, Jon Carlson, and all of my professors!"
